Concept stage

Help us build a better way for brands to back women athletes.

We're looking for a few founding brand partners to add a new layer to their athlete sponsorships: Moments that bring fans closer to their favorite players, and your brand along with them. If we get it right, the brand, the athlete and her agent all come out ahead.

The idea

Posts get seen.
Moments get fans involved.

Most athlete sponsorships run on sponsored social posts. They're great for awareness, and they're worth keeping. But social reach is only part of the opportunity. Moments add a layer on top: planned occasions, timed to what matters to your brand, delivered straight from her to her fans through channels she owns.

What you do now

Sponsored posts

She shares your brand with her followers on social, where the algorithm decides who sees it.

Additional channels

Her direct channels

Each Moment also goes straight from her to fans who've joined her list, by text and email.

The result

More reach

Your sponsorship reaches fans on social and the fans the feed misses, through a list she owns and keeps growing.

Bundle multiple Moments into a season-long partnership.

Each one is timed to something that matters to your brand. Mix and match them to fit your calendar.

Seasonal offer

Her order

Her real go-to order goes on your menu for the season, with a code just for fans on her list that tracks every redemption.

Her list

Fans text a keyword to join her list and hear about every Moment first. The list is hers, and fans can opt in to hear from you too.

Hey, it's Tessa! You're on my list now, so you'll hear about drops and news before anyone else.

Let's gooo

Mockups use a fictional athlete, Tessa Rourke, and a fictional brand, Harbor Roast.

Those are four of more than a dozen Moments we've mapped.

Each one is built to be bundled with others into a season, so there's always a next reason for fans to show up. Here are more from the menu.

The approach

Every Moment is built around your goals and her fans.

Timed to your calendar

How it works

We plan a season of Moments around what matters to your brand, like a launch, a seasonal offer or a story you want to tell, and around dates her fans care about.

Why

Your sponsorship works harder when her biggest moments line up with yours.

Straight from her to her fans

How it works

Every Moment goes out two ways: her social posts, and a direct message to fans who've joined her list.

Why

A direct message reaches every fan who opted in, not just the ones the algorithm picks. The list is hers, so it keeps growing after your partnership ends.

Something worth showing up for

How it works

Every Moment gives fans something they want from her: first access, her order, a say in what happens next.

Why

Fans act when there's something in it for them, and every response can be counted.

Produced once, used all season

How it works

Content and assets for a season of Moments are planned and captured in one batch, scheduled with her agent, then banked for use all season.

Why

Your production budget goes further, and you're never scrambling for content mid-season. It also respects her time, the scarcest part of any deal, by keeping the ask small and predictable.

Measured in your numbers

How it works

Codes, links and opt-ins tie each Moment to redemptions, sign-ups and app installs.

Why

You see what the sponsorship actually drove, not just how many people saw it.

The new layer adds something for everyone.

The brand

More than social reach: a direct line to her fans, and results you can report, from opt-ins to purchases, in your own numbers. Your biggest brand moments get her biggest fans behind them.

The athlete

More than a one-off post: a season-long partnership with the brand. She's paid her full fee for her time, and Fanbiz never takes a cut of it. Every Moment grows a list she owns, which keeps paying off long after the partnership ends.

Her agent

More to sell in every deal: a measured layer on top of posts, and a growing list that strengthens her next negotiation. The agent sets the terms, fees, service hours and approvals.

Her fans

More than an ad in their feed: first access, her favorite things and a say in what comes next.

Why athletes

What do athletes add to your overall sponsorship plan?

They bring a kind of attention and trust that's hard to get anywhere else. In OpenSponsorship's 2026 report, athlete partners averaged more than twice the engagement rate of traditional influencers on its platform. In a separate survey, fans said they're 2.7x more likely to buy what a trusted woman athlete endorses.

Founding partners

We'll answer these four questions together.

We don't have all the answers yet, and that's the point. Our founding partners, along with the athletes and agents we work with, will help us find them.

Which Moments work best?

Which Moments drive the strongest response for different types of brands, and why.

How much athlete time does each Moment take?

A realistic time budget for each kind of Moment, in season and out, including when athletes are playing overseas.

How should her list and your opt-ins work together?

The best way to run her list alongside your brand's opt-ins, for fans and for everyone involved.

How should partnerships be structured?

How partnerships are contracted, priced and measured so they're fair to the brand, the athlete and her agent.

How a pilot works

Every pilot starts with what success looks like.

Define success

We start with your objectives. A guided self-assessment and a working session with your team pin down what success looks like for you, whether that's trial, sign-ups or loyalty, and the numbers that will prove it.

Create it

We create a first series of Moments built to hit those goals, with the athlete's agent involved from the start, so it fits her calendar, her existing deals and her brand.

Measure it

We run it with the athlete, measure results against the goals we set together, and share what we learn so everyone can decide what to keep, change or grow.

Guardrails

We'll write the ground rules together.

Here's where we're starting. Our founding partners, and the athletes and agents we work with, will help shape the details.

She has the final say

Nothing goes out without the athlete's and her agent's approval. That keeps every Moment true to her, which is why fans trust it.

No surprises

We check for conflicts with her existing deals and her team's partners before we bring you an idea, so nobody gets caught off guard.

Her fans stay hers

Her list belongs to her, not to us or your brand. Your brand keeps its results and every fan who opts in to hear from you.

About her, not the jersey

Moments are built on the athlete's name and story, not team or league logos.

Fair to everyone

Partnerships are set up so the brand, the athlete and her agent all come out ahead. Fanbiz never takes a cut of the athlete's fee.

Compliant in Canada and the US

Contests, opt-ins and disclosures are built to meet Canadian and US rules from day one.

Fanbiz works alongside teams and leagues, not around them. If you already sponsor a team, we can add an athlete layer to that deal with the team's approval. If you want a team or league partnership, we'll introduce you. We're not affiliated with any team or league.

Who's behind it

Our founder has helped brand teams ship great work since 2010.

Built a creative agency from scratch

Fanbiz founder Nolin LeChasseur co-founded Brainrider in 2010 and leads it as CEO. Brainrider helps in-house brand teams at companies like Amazon, Lyft, Indeed, Coinbase, FreshBooks, Cogeco and Purolator get more creative work done without adding headcount.

A production team already in place

Brainrider's studio team turns out social content, digital ads and campaign assets for its clients every week, so a pilot starts with a delivery team that's already running.

A fan first

You'll find Nolin courtside year-round, at Toronto Tempo games as the Hawaiian Shirt Guy and at Raptors games the rest of the year. He's held Tempo season tickets since the team's first game and writes the Sponsoring Women Athletes newsletter. He's spent this year learning from brand marketers, player agents and people across women's basketball.

As Fanbiz grows, we'll add people with deep roots in sponsorship and athlete marketing to the team.

We're looking for a few founding brand partners to help shape this model.

If you're a brand marketer who wants a say in how this works, let's talk. Agents are welcome too. Athletes, please have your agent reach out.
